On conveyors of horizontal and inclined types, a tension drum is used. When rubberizing conveyor drums, the following is possible: reduce the adhesion between the drum itself and the belt; reduce belt tension, wear; reduce the risk of belt burn-through due to reduced drum slippage; reduce the noise level of the conveyor; simplify the adjustment of the belt movement (straight-line travel). The drum gives the belt the necessary tension, which is sufficient on the drive to transmit the traction force by friction.
