Today, the technology of urban and industrial wastewater treatment using membrane bioreactors is one of the most promising. It provides reuse of resources, reduces costs and implements the principles of a closed-loop economy. MBR membrane filtration modules combine all the advantages of hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes on the market.
The ultra-low transmembrane pressure and the absence of pore clogging mean that membranes need to be cleaned very rarely. During normal operation, a two-minute relaxation period every 10 minutes is sufficient to remove contaminants from the membrane surface with blowing air.
There is no need for frequent backwash or chemical backwash - only an hour to two hour CIP is required every two to three months. The time savings compared to other ICBM systems are very large.
Long CIP cycles also offer the advantage of minimizing membrane wear and minimal use of chemicals.
